FYI, my beloved maternal grandfather, Grant Breed Munger (whose own father marched into Vicksburg with the 17th Illinois Infantry under Ulysses S. Grant, on 4 July 1863), turns 140 today; and no, he is not collecting Social Security benefits. He's been dead since 1978.

For the uninitiated, the Taittiriya Upanishad is one of the noblest and most ancient Hindu scriptures:

"It is written: He who knows the joy of Brahman, which words cannot express and the mind cannot reach, is free from fear. He is not distracted by the thought, 'Why did I not do what is right? Why did I do what is wrong?' He who knows the joy of Brahman, knowing both good and evil, transcends both."

"Those acts that you consider good when done to you, do those to others, none else." [I.11.2]
